2013 drew to a somewhat under-whelming conclusion last month, particularly for the UK’s Oil & Gas Industry sector. Although capital investment within the industry continued to rise there were a number of project delays, under performance of production and little or no exploration success.

However, Wood MacKenzie conducted a UK Upstream Oil & Gas review for 2014 and the findings suggest a successful year could be on the horizon. There have already been promising discoveries of new fields and an increase on UK focussed deals, with a number of key UK start ups to look out for this year too!

With this in mind, there has not been a more important time to look for a new position. North Sea production had been falling at about 8% per year since 1999, but Oilpro.com stated earlier this week, “Although production is not expected to recover meaningfully this year, the Oilpro view continues to be that the UK will arrest the rampant production declines of years past in 2014 / 2015” (2014).

Projects will begin, production is due to commence and exploration attempts will be more fruitful in the coming years.

Dilectus Group continue to work closely with industry leaders such as; Cameron, Aker, GE Oil & Gas, Weatherford etc. as the No.1 Supplier of Oil & Gas professionals across the globe. The year ahead looks promising already as we are inundated with fresh, new opportunities from our clients, and close to securing more exciting deals with various Oil & Gas  giants that we will be able to reveal to you shortly.

We will certainly be watching how the industry performs this year and years to come, and will continue to offer excellent roles within the North Sea and overseas.
