HSE ENGINEER (LIVERPOOL, PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY - CONTRACT ROLE INITIALLY WITH FURTHER POTENTIAL): CIRCA £20-30 PER HOUR. WORLD LEADING MULTINATIONAL COMPANY, FANTASTIC WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND ROLE.

The Client

Our client is quite simply one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, with a reputation for being one of the best organisations to work for. We are presently seeking an HSE Engineer for this client on contract. The candidate will be responsible for setting up and managing the compliance systems for a range of equipment (Pressure Systems, lifting equipment, workshop equipment) and as such will need experience in these areas. They will need to be organised and a good communicator as they will be responsible for coaching users and other engineers to ensure compliance. 

The Role

The Central Engineering Compliance Engineer sits within the Engineering and Facilities function and is responsible for owning the management systems which govern various engineering compliance/statutory activities (e.g. Pressure System Regs, Mechanical Integrity, LOLER etc…)

General Responsibilities

Own the process for defining how a statutory system is managed on site. The individual will be responsible for putting together the requirements which cover the following activities:
- routine operational process in order to comply with the statutory requirements of that system
- self inspection or periodic review process
- competency/training programme
- associated documentation system
- monitor high level metrics and feedback critical issues to sr mgt (e.g HSSC)
- own the upkeep of the site register for associated assets
- Set the business user requirements if some of the related activities are to be outsourced to a 3rd party. Own the supplier relationship process.
- Provide guidance and advice to other engineers and users on site in implementing the requirements of the management process.
- Own or assist in the root cause and impact investigation of any non-compliance event against the statutory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement by adopting industry standard and internal best practices on the management of relevant statutory activities.

Skills & Experience Required

Engineering qualification along with experience in a relevant role
Knowledge of setting up of documentation for Pressure Systems, lifting equipment, workshop equipment or similar
Experience in a manufacturing environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
