They have recently made significant inroads into the secure communications field, and are looking for a sales manager to help push this division forward. With their outstanding technical capability and resources they are primed to become a major player in the field.

Job Description

Our client is looking to recruit a Technical Sales Manager to support the Secure Communications Business Area, in order to significantly increase sales of Professional Communication Systems and products in the UK civil market (TETRA/DMR/LTE). Target customers are Critical National Infrastructure Companies (CNI), Energy and Utilities, Oil and Gas and Transport Companies, as well as Emergency responders, Local Authorities and High End Corporate customers with extensive secure communications needs.

To succeed you'll need to be a dynamic and driven experienced and technically prepared sales manager who can deliver ambitious growth targets. The successful candidates will also be required to develop, own and deliver key bids and manage key accounts, reporting to the Head of Sales and working with the team across functional disciplines and particularly closely with the operations team and the VP HomeLand Security and Secure Communication Line of Business.

Demonstrable track record and Secure Communications products and systems Sales and deep technical knowledge of products and market is a must. As part of the Secure Communication team, you will need to demonstrate seasoned stakeholder relationships in the targeted market segments.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Present & create key relationships in core customer communities, primarily CNI, Bluelights and Home Office
  • Support technical preparation of proposals and documents
  • Qualify and manage channel partners to generate new/sustainable business for the Business Unit
  • Deliver order intake targets
  • Drive deal structure and commercial offers
  • Lead multi-functional bid teams from through to order closure and into account development
  • Support to key marketing events link to nominated sales campaigns
  • Represent the company in front of customers and other industry in support of key campaigns

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • Relationship development and management (Portfolio of existing customers)
  • Demonstrable experience of exploiting and developing Professional Comms sales opportunities within the UK and export Market
  • Technical Know of PMR/TETRA/DMR products and systems.
  • Confident networker and presenter, excellent contacts and reputation across the customer and industry base

Key experience:- 

  • Track record in creating opportunities, building a pipeline, closing sales in a completive environment, and building long-term customer relationships that drive benefit into the company
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen and ability to make and deliver forecasts to hit targets
  • Policing / Security background in UK and International markets would be advantageous, together with solid understanding of the underlying technologies and architectures and client mission/business goals.
