Job Description

Working in a cleanroom environment, the successful candidate will perform test operations in accordance with written instructions and process controls. This may include inspection and assembly tasks. The role will be carried out to meet internal and external customer requirements in terms of quality, cost and delivery. The candidate will ensure day to day workflow management under guidance of the team leader and on an ad hoc basis support the Test Engineering function with Non-production testing.  

Key responsibility Areas

  • Production Test and ESS
  • Day to day workflow management
  • Close interaction with engineering teams to ensure product is tested on time and to the correct standard
  • Ownership and responsibility for the Production Test area – SHE, ESD handling, 5S and continuous improvement
  • In addition the candidate will be responsible for prioritising work through each test bench so as to maximise capacity and throughput in challenging timescales.  

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Essential:

  • Minimum of HNC/HND Electronics and/or qualified by experience
  • Must have practical experience of using test equipment, DMM’s,
  • Oscilloscopes and data loggers in a production test environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and other technical documentation such as work instructions and operating procedures
  • Must be confident with a PC, creating folders and file structure
  • Must be able to work in a low supervision environment and take personal responsibility of priorities set by the Team Leader
  • Demonstrate evidence of good organisation, planning and execution of work
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work closely in a team with other production staff and engineering functions

Desirable:

  • Experience working in cleanroom environments
  • Experience in optical testing and/or semiconductors
  • Experience of testing InfraRed products
  • Experience of working in the space industry
  • Vacuum and cryogenic experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience of ESS and Vibration testing
