MAINTENANCE PLANNER (LIVERPOOL, PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY - CONTRACT ROLE INITIALLY WITH FURTHER POTENTIAL): WORLD LEADING MULTINATIONAL COMPANY, FANTASTIC WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND ROLE.

The Client

Our client is quite simply one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, with a reputation for being one of the best organisations to work for. We are presently seeking a Maintenance Planner for this client on contract, in a days role. We are seeking candidates ideally who have some experience of planning maintenance activities.

The Role

The key role of the maintenance planner is to own the asset maintenance plan for their area of responsibility.  The planner works in the medium to long term time horizon to make sure maintenance tasks are executable.

The maintenance planner creates a safe plan of work detailing the actual work needed in sequential order, appropriate maintenance procedures, known required parts and specialist tools and resources, craft requirements with time estimates, retest requirements, specifications, safety, quality and environmental requirements needed to perform the work.

General Responsibilities

The Maintenance Planner is accountable for the CMMS backlog of work orders within their area.

The Maintenance Planner verifies the availability of parts, materials, access, and special tools required for the job and if needed will order parts and materials for maintenance jobs.  Must be able to recognize parts.

The maintenance planner must have a working knowledge of the facility that (s)he is supporting to ensure work is created appropriately.  This should include walk downs of the area during job plan creation, and quotes from third parties.

Good communication skills, verbal and written, will be required to interact one on one and in group sessions with operations, engineers, supervisors and craftspersons.

Understands and shares the vision of the integrated asset management processes.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of CMMS

Demonstrated strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

Ability to deal effectively with conflict.

Knowledge of maintenance scheduling, planning, procedures, and PM programs.

Knowledge of engineering drawing system and different types of equipment and instrumentation within the facility

Ensures that planned work is costed accurately such that correct financial decisions can be made.

Represent Maintenance in support of site objectives.

Skills & Experience Required

Experience of planning preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Some engineering education (HNC), associate’s degree, skilled trade training or experience. 
Have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship. 
Knowledge of Mechanical, ECI or Chemical Engineering.

Additional Skills/Preferences

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
Good working knowledge of Maximo preferred.
A proactive and flexible attitude in a changing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work
