CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT FACILITATOR (WIDNES): £38-42k: 12 MONTH INITIAL MATERNITY COVER CONTRACT BUT POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITY TO STAY LONGER TERM. LARGE MULTINATIONAL COMPANY UNDERGOING A PERIOD OF GROWTH AND POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT.

The Client

Our client is part of a huge multinational company with operations and offices all over the world, with an innovative and high technology range of products. As part of their continued growth they are presently seeking a CI Facilitator to drive their aim of World Class Manufacturing.

The Role

Responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement using World Class Manufacturing principles in support of meeting financial, business and leadership developmental goals. These goals include lead time reduction, improvement to inventory turns, improvement to utilization and efficiency, and increased organizational flexibility.

Responsibilities

1. Assists in driving continuous improvement that ensures production volume, cost and quality to support Five Year Strategic Forecast.
2. Meets expectations for lean organization/culture.
3. Supports understanding and implementation of TPM (Autonomous Maintenance & Planned Maintenance) manufacturing concepts that delivers quantifiable benefits.
4. Support the deployment of WCM initiatives across the entire organization including value streams, improved flow, 5S, visual factory, SMED and other Lean tools and principles in an effort to impact the customer and business metrics.
5. Works with CI Manager to formulate short and longer-term asset/resource strategy to meet business goals as guided by WCM principles. Participates in project identification/selection, assuring linkage between projects and business and customer priorities.
6. Implement pull processes between manufacturing processes, distribution and the supply chain.
7. Ensure sustainability and improvement to inventory turns.
8. Works directly on target focused improvement projects that are critical for the site.
9. Ensure basic WCM knowledge is available to all employees on site. Act as change agent to instill WCM culture throughout the organization.
10. Support projects such as reducing operating costs through cost reduction, improved process control, machine reliability, machine set-up times and introducing new products and processes.
11. Identify gaps in performance against Best in Class and lead improvement initiatives as it relates to service level performance, inventory turns improvement and labour productivity results.

The Person 

Skills & Experience Required

-3+ Years experience driving improvements in Manufacturing environments
-Experience of leading continuous improvement techniques such as Lean, Kaizen, TPM etc.
-Driven and self motivated
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
